looks like Zawodny has made the same conclusion about Google that I wrote about earlier. Re: moving in on existing markets rather than creating new ones. Like I said before, isn't that what they've always done?

Google has done a number of new things (like text ads), but it's certainly true that they often move in on existing markets, usually by building a vastly superior solution than the one the first mover did.

Evidently this guy Zawodny works for Yahoo. Yahoo is free to get off its butt and innovate any time they want, or they can wait for Google to come along and out-do them.

Back when Windows 95 came out, the Mac fans all said "Window 95 == Mac 89" and they were right. But what they didn't say was "Mac 95 == Mac 89". If you sit around, you get overtaken (the Mac later moved ahead again with OSX, but you can never stop).
